Ok, I'll admit this career change hasn't gone as well as hoped.

Not a valid argument from that angle.

well, that was a bit of the basis for the OP dilemma. Not comfortable with asking or expecting her children to accept less, even though the job that would continue to provide them that particular lifestyle was not the most enjoyable for her and not the one she was the most content with.

it's along the same lines as letting your child dictate what you are/can provide for them. her decision is being based on what the kids desire more than what she may desire.

I don't mean to speak for her though, I am just answering your question. I wouldn't say kids dictate how we parent or provide. It obviously does influence though.

Horse Hockey.
I sacrifice for Liza.
she sacrifices for me.
and sometimes we both sacrifice for something bigger than either of us. It's called being a family, working together and learning that no one ALWAYS comes first. Momma's got needs and wants. Liza's got needs and wants. and sometime neither of our needs or wants are the most important.

you can throw yourself on that sword if you want but I'll pass thanks --

Yes. We. Can.

Yes. We. Did.

Well, I wouldn't call Kentucky a mecca of teaching paradise, but my cousin graduated last may; she's a middle school science major and had 7 offers from around the commonwealth.
