What does feminism mean to you?

I noted that feminism was touched upon in another thread and that people involved in the discussion seemed to have different definitions and outlooks on feminism. I'm curious about all of these different views and definitions not only as a student, but in the context of the WOH/SAH debate.

FWIW, this wouldn't be the first place that I've heard about varying levels of feminism. I once stumbled across a group of women who were proud to tell me that they were anti-feminist, because they didn't hate men and they enjoyed wearing bras and having babies.

So, what does feminism mean to you? Do you think that feminism is big and complex enough to have multiple definitions?

I'm raising my daughter to believe she can conquer the world.. but until the rest of the world gets with the program the reality is that she will make less money because she has ovaries...but if any generation is going to bust that door down it's going to be my daughter's.. the mansplainers better get nervous real fast...

And there are some great women + men in government. But when you break it down to just your gender and your likeness you reverse the discrimination.

Jams, I am going to ask you once again, do NOT include any identifying or personal information in your posts to me. The only name or title that is okay to use on the board is my user name. If you come to my office, you may use any appropriate professional title. Secondly, if you attack the method, you attack the outcome. People's children are off limits to fair-minded, decent people.

Exactly, The more women spout about INequalities the less competent they sound! And thank you for that endorsement, Coming from a lawyer I appreciate that, Many female lawyers I know are of the far left mindset, Lol.

Exactly!  Just like you've been saying all along.

It weakens women to tell girls they will definitely have a lesser salary than men when they grow up and work.  In fact, it's not even true.  It's interesting that you and I ARE raising girls and the ones not raising girls are telling their kids something different.  Sad really.

Thanks, Jams!  I was never discriminated against in the conservative law firms I was associated with or even visited.  Never by a judge.  I never witnessed it.  And that was years ago.  And in law school, as I mentioned, there were more women in my class.
