What has parenthood given you?
this may sound too cliche but for me,parenting really has been about looking at things through they eyes of children.
A sense of future. Pre-dd I had that in a very vague and overly-intellectual way. I looked at the future in a fuzzy way because I was looking at a future of kids I knew "about" but didn't really
Having the future be dd's future makes it feel like it's my future too, even though I'll be dead.

I've gained an incredible appreciate for how frail we are. I've gained patience, perpsective, and the ability to give up a huge number of personal "needs." I've gained incredible capacity to love, and to accept basic truths. Also huge balance between what I used to value, and what I now think is more important.
