I think there is no real way of knowing the answer to either question because there is no way of knowing what life would be like without children. I know in my own world I was only twenty when I had my oldest and in many ways we grew up together. Through my desire to help him I found my own purpose and passion in life - a "job" I would (will)

I think that depends a lot on what your life was like before having kids.
