What have you "given up" in order to have and parent children?

Like I said, IME from the friends, family, coworkers and stories of people I know, not many breastfed. The ones that did, one of the main reasons was financial as they could not afford the formula.

Why would think people would find feeding formula to be impressive and that they have money?

"Do you check luggage or do you keep your luggage and your purse both in the compartment where your legs go?"

When I am traveling with children I put my purse where my legs go and put a carry on where the child's legs go. The carry on has liquid and snacks in easy out side pouches to aid accessibility. As a result, we could always get a drink or a snack or toy/book when seatbelted.

The problem I had with the 30 minute sitting rule was just after DS1 was potty trained and just when the mandatory stay in your seat announcement came- he announced he had to pee. He had to wait 45 minutes to pee. Luckily we had no accidents but it was pretty hairy there for a bit. It was a very long 45 minutes.

I don't think you would "need" a separate account but I like to separate things sometimes just to organize myself.

That would be pretty hard to live with, and sounds like it would go way beyond chores.

Lower income women qualify for free formula through WIC. Lower income women are more likely to feed formula than higher income women.

What's the big deal with homemade baby food? It's zillions cheaper than jarred, fresher, easier to store and easy-peasy to make. I mean, all you need is a blender or food processor, although I personally prefer a food grinder for dealing with meat, but I almost never made meats in bulk, since I could just puree whatever I was planning to eat myself.

For the rest it didn't take much to make a week's worth of baby food in an hour or two on weekends. I froze it in ice cube trays and then stored the frozen cubes in ziploc bags. It would be difficult to be much easier.

Whole milk (from cows) hasn't been recommended for infants under a year old since before my son was born.

If it's not a big deal, why are you amazed so many people here did it?
