What have you "given up" in order to have and parent children?

You can't compare children to other children. Her children are likely sick less often than they would have been had they been formula fed. That's what the stats mean. They don't mean that my kids are sick less than your kids, because there are other things that contribute. All other things being equal though....

What to Look For in a Formula

As you may know, the American Academy of Pediatrics considers breast milk to be the preferred feeding choice for infants. That's because it provides balanced nutrition, including the brain- and eye-building nutrients DHA, ARA, and other benefits for your baby's health and immune system. Plus, breastfeeding is economical for moms and dads.

So when choosing a formula, it's important to select one that delivers DHA, ARA and choline, at levels similar to those in breast milk. Not all formulas have these nutrients. If you're uncertain, simply ask your pediatrician.

Now Even More Like Breast Milk

Enfamil LIPIL® provides the nutritional foundation for unsurpassed mental and physical development when compared to tother infant formulas.

Enfamil LIPIL, with breast milk levels of the important nutrients DHA, ARA and choline**, promotes brain and eye development.

Plus, Enfamil LIPIL provides the balanced nutrition your baby needs, including:

  • Calcium for strong bones
  • Easy-to-digest protein
  • Antioxidants to support your baby's immune system

Can I ask why you don't think that is a benefit?

Yes, we all have our own experiences. Doesn't make either of us an expert :)

Exactly. So all bf children can not be compared to all ff children.

Apples are so naturally sweet, I've never really understood why anyone would add sweeteners to applesauce. But then I grew up on unsweetened applesauce. Sweetened applesauce is way too sweet and doesn't taste like apples at all. Same for apple juice.

If unsweetened applesauce isn't on sale and the price isn't in my budget, we don't have applesauce that week. On the other hand, if apples are on sale, I just might buy more and make applesauce. It's not that hard and doesn't take much time. Paring the apples is the most time consuming part. I've been known to pare them in the living room while watching TV.

I looked on breastfeeding time as an excuse to be lazy. I could just delegate everything else because I was feeding the baby.
