What have you "given up" in order to have and parent children?

Having kids doesn't mean having to take them everywhere and not to mention

ah please -- we're taking Liza to Provincetown smack in the middle of "Carnivale" complete with a parade with every type of drag queen imaginable -- she's thrilled.

Ah...but you have to remember....I live in an area without regard to the quality of the school system, we travel to different places and volunteer quite a bit already.

I'm sure SOME DINKS do and I"M sure some DINKS have lifestyles pretty close to mine -- honestly my life is not really that much different in terms of the travel, the going out, than it was pre-child.

oh wait. yes it is -- I have a LOT more sex now ... ;-)

You never just took a day off together?

How young are you talking about?

I was only talking about when they're young.

And when they are young, you have to take them, or find someone else to take them.

It IS different, but it is not the same as "giving up" something because you have kids. I have wandered more of the streets of Paris, tasted more of the foods of Paris, shopped in more of the stores of Paris, spent time in more of the museums of Paris, etc, with my kids than I ever did without them. And I sure would never have gone to Parc Asterix without my kids. Not that I would have died unhappy without ever having seen Parc Asterix, but it's an authentic French cultural experience I am glad to have enjoyed. Once.
