What have you "given up" in order to have and parent children?

Okay what about after that and before you had kids? How often did you do it then?

After being married for awhile we would go out usually once a week or once every 2 weeks at anytime of the day and night.

We do that now, with the kids....why couldn't you do it with the kids?

Because we just got up and went, did whatever came up. After kids, we would have to be prepared, have enough diapers, wipes, formula, clothes, etc. It was ALOT different then when it was only "us".

We never offered our kids particularly bland foods, just slightly toned down versions of what DH and I eat. We like really spicy/hot stuff, so if I was stir frying something, I would just take out kid-sized portions of the food before adding in the chili oil or jalapenos, but otherwise they ate whatever we ate.

Yeah, I see that you have mentioned it. I don't understand though as I thought if they are taught things and go to places from a young age that they would be fine when they got older. Didn't you say that?

BE careful with the spray sunblocks. We had a sunblock failure with them. It was a newly bought one and had not expired. I shake it every time I use it. It still had about a 1/2 of the spray left, but apparently no sunblock protection. It worked the day before. We all got burned. Luckily no one got blisters, but we had to spend one day in doors not sitting too close to each other. I pealed big time the next week.

Tat worked and still works with my oldest. However, it didn't with my youngest. He would rather just not eat and has. So, I make sure there is one or two things on the table that everyone will like.

I am willing too, but everyone to whom I would be close enough to have a tit for tat doesn't need it. They have family that is able, willing and available.

I misunderstood then, because I thought when you said you let them stay up as late as you did that you went to sleep when they did.

No, I've never met your children - from what you've posted they seem quite, quite different than mine.

So why didn't he help with the laundry, cooking and cleaning once you were married and before kids? Surely he did all that for himself while he was a bachelor.
