Would you do that now, even if you didn't have kids? Pehaps I'm just old or not interested but I stopped doing those kinds of things long before I had kids...although they do pop up every now and again, lol.
If we didn't have kids, yes we would still be going to late movies, going out to have a drink, catching a bite to eat late.

Not driving all over the place as you state isn't a result of having kids, but prices. Why do you feel that your kids need a destination? Sometimes I think it is very much about the journey....
Because my kids do not like to be in the car that long. They need to "be someplace" and sometimes don't appreciate the "view". We have driven them out east to show them the sites but they were more interested in stopping and getting ice cream-lol!!! When we didn't have kids, we were able to keep going all day and night and with the kids, it is harder as they get tired and we enjoyed driving places, then going out to dinner and then shopping and then maybe the movies, etc. Our weekends were not spent at home most of the time so we were always out and about. We also had friends that we went out dancing with, to bars, happy hour, etc.
No she made no guarantee but she stated that she has taken her dd since a young age and that is why she could eat at restaurants and this other child could not.
I don't get what's wrong with staying up late and taking naps? Have you ever traveled in Italy or other parts of the Mediterranean? It's very common to take a nap after lunch. It used to be hard to find a store open between 2 and 4, everybody was napping.
If the children are school age but young enough to need childcare, how would a FT WOHP work that out? Cover the additional cost of childcare for the extra kids?
He goes in cycles as the season goes in cycles...he will be tired for another week or so, then catch up and then be tired again about the first week in August when the next sport ramps up.
That's a bummer. I am short, so I never use the overhead compartments in planes, plus I hate disturbing seatmates, so everything I might need for the flight is accessible and safely stored in the seat in front of me!
Okay, thanks, so you're perfectly comfortable having no schedule. For me, it would be weird for DH and I to go to bed at the same time every night and not have any idea how much free time, if any, we'd have after the kids went to bed.
