Well since my kids go to bed around 9pm, I have more of a chance to do things during the day than after that time when I can't just get up and go out so I would really not nap during that time.
ITA with you. My dh usually are up (together) for about 2-3 hours after the kids go to bed and I LOVE it as I actually can talk to him then without being interrupted-lol!!!
If the kids were young enough to need childcare during the day, I would have taken them to whatever location they were used to going, let them stay in aftercare, whatever. Or had the family involved work it out because they wouldn't have asked me to stay home with their kid knowing I work. If I had a nanny, I might ask the nanny if she could handle an extra kid for a couple of days for extra compensation, of course.
It is just the case that a kid in puberty, who is growing FAST, needs more sleep than a kid who hasn't started into puberty. My kids were MUCH more able to get up in the morning or stay up later at age 10 than age 12-13. Baby Einstein has grown nine inches in the last fifteen months. He needs a lot of sleep!
But it should be obvious to the parents that if they not as lax with bedtimes, they wouldn't have such a hard time getting them up in the morning.
Again my dh's mother let her kids do whatever they wanted, had no set schedules for her kids and if it wasn't for me, who was brought up with routines and schedules, he would still be the same way.

There's nothing wrong with it, it just doesn't agree with me.

But again, you don't know that if their parents were different the outcome would be different, you are just seeing the outcome.
