Higher standards are better than lower standards by definition. The person with higher standards has no inherent right to expect the other person to live up to them.

Having a clean toilet is a higher standard than a dirty toilet.
Having no dishes in the sink after a meal is a higher standard than clean dishes still in the dishwasher and dirty dishes left in the sink.
A house that is vacuumed and dusted is a higher standard than a house that needs vacuuming and dusting.
It's objectively measurable.

Not all dads are ignoring the household due to their hands on involvement with the kids and their activities.
My DH doesn't really contribute to the standards of family life - he's the fun parent for about 2 hours a weekday, that's what he does.
