What have you "given up" in order to have and parent children?

Thanks! That is how we usually do it. High gas prices, higher utilities and the economy (and raises not high enough to cover it all-lol!!) have eliminated much of extra savings....

See, I won't come on the computer until my house is neat and clean for the day (as much as I can with the kids messing it back up-lol!!). I try and do little things here and there (mopping after the kids go to bed, dusting as they are watching a movie, etc.) so I can go out and do things with the family AND have my house clean.

But again, I know that is just me :)

I just can't bring myself to let my day be driven by the relative neatness of my house - my capacity to ignore dust and cobwebs is infinite...but then i know that's just me :-)

Man, I wish I had the inclination to clean like you do. I love a clean house, but I have such a strong aversion to actually cleaning. I definitely take after the women on my dad's side of the family, both physically and in personality. But THEY had the sense to marry men that could pay for housekeepers and nannies. I married a theatre major who is as messy and disorganized as I am.

LOL -- I'm partnered to a woman who will actually clean the kitchen AFTER I clean it after dinner b/c she's so anal -- soprobably a good person to have in my life.

she's really funny though b/c she kept saying for a long time that if we ever got a house she wanted a master bathroom so she didn't have to share one with liza who was 'really messy' finally I said to her last night "you DO realize that Liza's actually really neat right? the mess in the bathroom is my doing" the blood DRAINED from her face and she said well um..maybe Liza dn I can share a bathroom! LOL

Many people simply pure whatever they are having themselves and give it to the kid. You don't need commercial babyfood to feed a baby.

Well I feel content and happy if I have a clean organized home. To me, that is less stress in my life.

We do not really do vacations, but we do travel every year. That expense is part of the regular household budget.

I would rather take that money and do something else with it than to clean my house when I can do that-but again, that is everyone else's preference.
