What have you "given up" in order to have and parent children?

Yes, it is funny. We just did a tally of what we had actually spent over a number of years on our household, and I was shocked how little it was. I generally feel like I am living large, but the reality is that we must have pretty humble tastes judging by how little we spend.

Yeah, but do you mean visible dirt to me or to DH? Cause he'll look at something I think is still dirty and think it's perfectly clean. And I'm sure some people here would look at something I think is clean and still see dirt.

Is it something you have to do each year for business, not pleasure?

LOL, I can imagine the look on her face! It's probably similar to the look my mother gets on her face when she comes over.

I don't think that cambelllover's explanation excluded the possibility that she fed them food AND breastmilk for a while.

She didn't say the kids were only fed breastmilk until 12 and 16 months though. I breastfed Samantha until she was 15 months, but started solids when she was just shy of 6 months. Doctors currently recommend waiting until at least 6 months for breastfed babies, and some are perfectly fine with waiting until a year to introduce solids.

What gives you that impression?

Good point, LOL. To be perfectly honest, right now you could write "dust me" on our bookshelves, and I try not to think about it. But when the inside of the toilet starts to turn a distinctively different shade below the water line as above it, then I'd call that visible dirt.
