What have you "given up" in order to have and parent children?

She said that she breastfed for 12-16 months, not that she exclusively breastfed for that time. There are 4-year-olds that still breastfeed, but that's a whole other discussion for a whole other board.

Come on, RLGL. Haven't you purchased a good bit of new furniture over the past few years? Didn't you just replace the carpet in your house? Some people would put that same money towards saving for a vacation.

I don't believe she said that.

I guess she will have to answer that as I read it as only breastmilk that entire time.

"I never bought a jar of baby food in my life. Well.. I did a couple of times when I had some dental work when I was in my teens.. LOL. My kids went straight from breastmilk to table food."

Maybe I am reading this wrong. Campbellover will have to explain.

She indicated she breastfeed from 12months for one and 16 months for the other.

Unless I am reading this incorrectly, there was no "baby food" inbetween the breastfeeding and table food.

Yes, but it does not mean that they did not eat table food before they were weaned, just that there was no intermediary stage, i.e. a baby food stage.

My kid did have some jar food, but would only eat the fruit ones. For real food I had to give her food I cooked, not the jar stuff.

I guess you can see it as that. I have done 2 year plans though for my furniture and it MUCH cheaper than a vacation for all of us (for what and where we prefer to vacation).

The dryer and carpet though that we are currently paying off are really "needs" though
