What have you "given up" in order to have and parent children?

You don't have a bunch of teenagers and their friends in your house 24/7, do you? Because I am here to tell you that cleaning a toilet that is used by a bunch of teens get progressively nastier after about a day. It is amazing what they cannot see, or pretend not to see.

Nothing wrong with being crunchy, I have a friend who is VERY crunchy, lol but I learned quite a bit from her and she's a great mom.

I almost wish I'd have gone more with my instincts rather than read too much.

Oh, I know it gets nastier, but the toilet is still the same size, and has exactly the same amount of surface area to clean. :)

I never bought any jarred babyfood either although I did buy the baby cereal flakes for my kids to mix in with things like mashed bananas and/or breastmilk when they were first starting solids. So my kids pretty much went straight from breastmilk to table food as well. With a bit of overlap. I think that's what she means.

Lol, I know people like that (REALLY organized closets).

Here's a situation DH and I run into frequently.

I did have to know a lot about what I could do at the hospital. It was a big fight to keep my baby in my room rather than in the nursery, not let them give him formula, and not let them give him a pacifier. They were not happy with me by the time I left... LOL.

Yeah, but I don't necessarily clean surfaces that are not dirty. I swish out the toilets and wipe up "spots" every day, but I don't necessarily clean and sanitize the whole thing, which is what ya gotta do after three days!

Yes, instead of going from breastmilk only to breastmilk and baby food to breastmilk and table foods, she went straight from breastmilk only to breastmilk and table foods. She never bought a jar of baby food.

I did learn a lot about childbirth--we went Bradley method--but my OB and the hospital were GREAT about meeting my needs and expectations.
