Now that I've gotten that out of the way. Looking back at the last 30 years, I can't recall anything that I have given up to raise our children. Now Joy and Angela can have a different outlook. They gave up a lot just by being Erica's sisters. Mainly, they gave up having their parents attention. I did what I did because that was the way it was. And raising Dylan is the way it is now.
1) A tremendous amount of free time
2) Material wealth

The one thing that I'm not willing to give up, to the point of ignoring dr's orders, is sewing. At times (way too many times I suspect if you ask dh and kids. But I'm afraid to ask.), sewing comes before family. Better yet, make that I will never give up.
