What kind of errands....

Do you run on a daily basis? Weekly basis? Monthly basis?

I've often heard people say that they need a lot of time during the week to run errands and that those errands would otherwise take up their evenings and weekends if they had to WOH ft. It made me curious because I just don't seem to have many errands to run at all. Are we just lazy :-)?

People are attempting to bring out your schizophrenic other personality: the one that said "my kids don't have a competitive lifestyle". After enough posts, that other personality may bubble up from the depths and hijack your hands for a few posts that might state that winning isn't everything.

How do you figure that?

There are only two groups of people in the entire world: those who play for the exact same comptetive reasons as quietmom and those who play for the exact same competitive reasons as quietmom but won't admit it. That covers all 6 billion of us. No exeptions.

Oh, see, no, you're changing it. Now the demographic group that is relevant to you is your little social set. Previously, you see, you said it was the whole of New England.

Sounds like our church recreational co-ed softball team. They are the "Flames," supposedly because of the United Methodist symbol -- but their spouses tease them that they are the "Flames" as in "Going down in at the end of every season." But it's been going strong since before I joined the church and shows no sign of abating. Every once in awhile they get some hotshot player who gets frustrated because of the total lack of skill exhibited by the team as a whole, and he (almost always a he) goes and finds a spot on a more compatible team. But the Flames burn on, lol.

Anyone calls my emergency numbers, they're going to get someone who will be authorized to make medical decisions for my child in case of an actual, honest-to-goodness emergency. They are not going to get someone who's going to be there before I will be to pick up said child if he's puking. They don't require that backup people be within a certain area.

It's a good idea to try to put those on your emergency list who might be available if you aren't. That's what I do.

They are available. Over the phone. To give direction of how the family wants things handled, in an actual, honest-to-goodness emergency, which would mean, an emergency for the child rather than in the school nurse's mind.
