What kind of errands....

Do you run on a daily basis? Weekly basis? Monthly basis?

I've often heard people say that they need a lot of time during the week to run errands and that those errands would otherwise take up their evenings and weekends if they had to WOH ft. It made me curious because I just don't seem to have many errands to run at all. Are we just lazy :-)?

Almost 20% of all live births in NYC in 2000 were to mothers over the age of 35. 1 in 5 is hardly a rare event. http://www.nyc.gov/html/dcp/pdf/pub/socind02ch4.pdf

Unfortunately there is no demo to which you can belong at 35 that would enable you to easily find childless 35+ year olds with which to play. Most female lawyers for example do not put of children until they are past 35. Its uncommon. I don't believe even pnj did that. I don't know a single one who did. Nor doctor. Nor trader. Nor anything. It doesn't even hold amongst the rich and famous. There is no demo in which that holds as common. People who had babies after 35 did it mostly based on this - aquisition of successful fertility treatment or aquisition of suitable lifsetyle (generally meaning found suitable partner). These situations do not define any sort of demographic upon which social circles are based.

What did you do - pay people to stay stationned day in and day out, near their phones, or some phone, so that they could be more reachable and get there faster than you could? You can do that. Generally those people are referred to as 'nannies' or something similar.

And yet, I had dd at 37. My best buddy that I hang with had her dd at 36 and her ds at 38. Several of my co-workers had kids at age 35 or older. One had her ds at 39. And then there are the several childless-by-choice couples (and single women) 35 plus that I know. All your post proves is that you don't know any of the same people that I do. Which I count as a good thing. I'd like all six degrees of separation to be in effect.

Actually, I have the little form right here. Here's what it requires. "PLEASE GIVE THE NAMES OF TWO (2) RELATIVES OR FRIENDS WHO WILL ASSUME RESPONSIBILITY OF (sic) YOUR SON OR DAUGHTER IN CASE OF ILLNESS OR ACCIDENT UNTIL YOU CAN BE REACHED. PLEASE NOTIFY THESE PERSONS OF THESE ARRANGEMENTS. IN CASE OF ANY CHANGES, PLEASE NOTIFY THE SCHOOL NURSE IN WRITING." Says nothing whatsoever about "PLEASE GIVE THE NAMES OF PEOPLE WHO CAN GET THEIR BEHINDS TO THE SCHOOL THE MINUTE THE NURSE CALLS BECAUSE OUR NURSE WILL BE COMPLETELY FREAKED OUT IF THE KID VOMITS." In fact, if you note, it doesn't say one thing about anyone having to pick anyone up - not even the parent.

That is what they "must get?" I'm pretty sure they're solely liable if they turn my puking kid into the street before someone gets there. So it seems to me that they don't really have an option.

What you are calling competitive we call recreational. Across soccer, hockey, baseball, softball, basektball, football, lacrosse.

That's nice. I'm pretty confident that my child's school nurse will act appropriately toward him, as is her duty as a professional, regardless of whether I make her life easier.

The baby didn't make me quit. Babies can't make grown adults do anything, remember?

Please do post any evidence of any inconsistency in my position.

I want to see my contradicition to 'my kids do not have a competitive lifestyle' and also something about that winning at all costs thing.

psst. Or you could save yourself alot of time and just maybe go read a 5th grade grammar text and look up the meaning of the word 'goal'
