What kind of errands....

Do you run on a daily basis? Weekly basis? Monthly basis?

I've often heard people say that they need a lot of time during the week to run errands and that those errands would otherwise take up their evenings and weekends if they had to WOH ft. It made me curious because I just don't seem to have many errands to run at all. Are we just lazy :-)?

I can' only speak from my personal experience.

"Veronica: "I hate fake deer too. Every time I see their stupid fake-deer faces I want to grab a shotgun and go all Cheney on 'em." Sure, but since fake deer don't talk, they won't

That must be why state law has removed the necessity of having children report to the nurse for asthma medication.

No, if I went up to bat to try and strike out then my goal would be losing.

No really, we don't. And we don't have to grant the possibility of every occurence of every unpredictable event an emergency status requiring the nth degree of advance preparedness. Some things, like puking kids at school, just don't warrant it. You know what, my plans a and b for puking kids invovle a parent showing up at the school in a reasonable amount of time. Plan c involves parents invoking their ability to be creative, responsible, resourseful and mature and react to the unexpected but trival situation in a reasonably sane and effective way. I'm entirely covered. I can handle it. I'm not going to disolve into a mush of panicky inneffectiveness over the case of a puking kid. If parents are both unreachable, I gotta admitt, I'm going with something really awful is going on, something that would make having a puking kid picked up a non issue and probably something which would make the fact that said puking child had to remain at school longer than some person deems desireable - entirely forgiveable.

Certainly a rarity around here; most of the schools date from around the turn of the century and provide makeshift facilities.

But we're talking about cases where the decision is that the child leave school.

I just feel sorry for the kid who makes the mistake of going to sabinamarianne's kids' school's nurse because he or she is feeling the effects of la grippe.

So, you are actually trying to get a hit. And trying to run fast. Because getting a hit and running fast is fun. Why is it fun?

The middle and high schools I attended in Germany were World War II era Luftwaffe barracks.

I think people relate "playing to win" to being so hardcore about winning that nothing else is important.
