What kind of errands....

Do you run on a daily basis? Weekly basis? Monthly basis?

I've often heard people say that they need a lot of time during the week to run errands and that those errands would otherwise take up their evenings and weekends if they had to WOH ft. It made me curious because I just don't seem to have many errands to run at all. Are we just lazy :-)?

In the Boston Marathon, the goal of most runners is merely to cross the finish line, not to win. How do I know this? When dh ran, that was his goal and the goal of the group of friends he was running with. The Boston Globe interviews random people they find training for it about a week in advance of the race. All of them say their goal is to either cross the finish line or -if they've done it before- to beat last year's time. Thousands and thousands of people run the Boston Marathon but the only ones who ever have the goal of winning are the tiny elite group of international runners.

He wasn't racing. He was running. At the same time and in the same place as a bunch of people who were racing.

You are clearly not familiar with Zen. My attempt to explain that mindset will do it no justice, but very broadly, it tries to bring people to a place where the action itself is the point.

I don't know if this is sarcasm or an epiphany. Hopefully the latter.

So much for the Zen of the action being enjoyable. Apparently it's the pretense that's enjoyable.

Of course there are people who approach sport this way.

So you're planning on winning your marathon? Or are you one of those annoying people who do it for other reasons?
Congratulations! I'm so happy to hear it. I just heard the good news and popped back over, just in case you were still checking in.

Um, that's because it's an incredibly stupid question. You have completely missed the point, as usual. I'm not PA, but I'm going to go ahead and venture a guess. Yes, she has tried to hit a ball. That does NOT mean she has tried to win a game.

And by the way, you KNOW that she has tried to hit the ball. So what's with the pretend prosecutor bit? Oh, I know. It's your game.

Congratulations! I'm so happy to hear it. I just heard the good news and popped back over, just in case you were still checking in.

Nope, not being sarcastic at all. I will admit that I find those people who 'play' in a game with me (in that manner) annoying. I really don't get it and it makes the game a lot less fun for me.

It's like someone sitting with a book in their lap and staring off into space but claiming to be 'reading'. That's not reading. It's sitting with a book.
