What kind of errands....

Do you run on a daily basis? Weekly basis? Monthly basis?

I've often heard people say that they need a lot of time during the week to run errands and that those errands would otherwise take up their evenings and weekends if they had to WOH ft. It made me curious because I just don't seem to have many errands to run at all. Are we just lazy :-)?

When I became a parent, something had to change. If you believe it's possible to plan one's way out of every kid-related dilemma, yours would be a very isolated POV.

Hang on, I'll find it.

Health studies routinely show it's better to be active and overweight than inactive. But perhaps it's a mistake to think you would mean "healthier" instead of "better looking" when you say "better".

You have never been called for an emergency other than just for your kids?

I haven't seen anyone make that claim.

There is no family matter, other than concerning DH or one of the boys, that I would allow to interrupt work.

Yes, some people live on fries and chips. But IMO it's quite possible to do right by your kids without ever enrolling them in a single organized sports activity or, for that matter, any adult-run extracurriculars.

A puking 5 YO is not an emergency which requires, say, Felicia to leave work, now, is it? There are a million ways around millions of things.

If "I can't WOH any more without DC" is a "problem" which is caused by a child, I'd hate to see what would happen if a real "problem" ever popped up.

No. He isn't a Christian so he doesn't do any of the church activities and he is pretty reluctant to become involved in most of our volunteer activities.. He starts work at 7 am usually, so I get the kids off to school and stuff. I take the kids to their afterschool activities except on Tuesday, which is my late teaching night this semester and also the kids' piano lessons after school this year (heee heee heee....there is some benefit to being in charge of the schedule). I'm home for the percussion teacher on Thursday and usually take the kid to his Saturday morning orchestra meeting. We sort of take turns doing other stuff, depending on who has the busier week.

DH does all the scouting activities, though, I don't DO cub scouts/boy scouts except the odd time when they have overlapping activities that both require a parent.

DH doesn't mind taking off a couple of hours here and there to do stuff with the kids but I do most of the planning a scheduling. A lot of his extra work hours are Saturday and Sunday.
