What kind of errands....

Do you run on a daily basis? Weekly basis? Monthly basis?

I've often heard people say that they need a lot of time during the week to run errands and that those errands would otherwise take up their evenings and weekends if they had to WOH ft. It made me curious because I just don't seem to have many errands to run at all. Are we just lazy :-)?

Your original assertion was that "never in the history of mankind" had having kids ever mandated that people either sell a car or buy one. In this particular situation, somebody DOES have to buy a car that fits 2 carseats unless 1)they already own one or 2)they never drive anywhere with 2 kids until they are both out of carseats. So I guess people who will sometimes need to drive two kids somewhere but don't already own a big enough car actually WILL have to buy one. Or are you now going to go back on that post where you said that they didn't have to?

edited to add: since you'll doubtless ask me to cite where you EVER claimed nobody ever had to buy a car because of having kids, it was post 860.

I guess you could move to NYC or someplace like that where you don't often use a car at all and just use a double stroller all the time. Or get a cab and strap in two car seats. But maybe both of those are pretty unrealistic...

Pre-kids, you do what you want, when you want, with like minded people. Like, everyone hop in the car and lets hit the slopes. See you at the bottom.

Not the same with kids. Not impossible, but less enjoyable depending on the ages of the kids, most certainly.

Are you serious? With a 2 year old and a 1 year old, it's a heck of a lot easier to let them run around in our own back yard than it is to pack everyone up for say, a water park adventure. Or to play in the house on a rainy day rather than load everyone up in the pouring rain to go to an indoor park some where. No hassle, roll out of bed, tons of stuff to do, projects, painting, whatever. Duh.

And both those things are a mandated change- something dogma insisted kids didn't force on parents in a different post.

Ahh, but kids can't play pick-up games because they are not allowed to play outside without constant supervision.

Nope. Nothing you say contradicts anything that I said. No one has ever been mandated to buy or sell a car by the fact of having children. That many people (both childfree and childfull) find it convenient to own a car, or this or that type of car, does nothing to change that simple fact.

Are you under the impression that everyone who is a parent, other than those in NYC, own cars?

That's funny because there is a big difference in the bodies of my team mates participating in the marathon with me..... and we are all doing the same milage proram. You bet our fitness levels vary, even all at the same level of training. Hmmm.
