what made you decide to do what you do?

In the interest of changing the subject back to something that is actually relevant to a SAH/WOH debate (LOL!), I will pose a question to anyone who wants to answer:
Who or what would you say was the greatest influence on your decision to SAH or WOH, whichever one you do (or want to do, if you aren't doing what you want)? Did any particular person, circumstance, situation, or anything else lead you to decide this question one way or the other?
What if two different influences conflicted? How did you make the decision then?

So perhaps you should re-read your own posts and pay attention to the topic yourself. I think you are the one having a difficult time comprehending things here.

"No, you don't understand. What I meant was, I know the teachers and principal, from the last school, personally. They no longer have a vested intersest in keeping me happy. They are friends, we socialize, they share stuff."

After that response, I know you concede the point. Did you really never think about it before? Just followed the mass opinions. I hate that in people who are supposed to be parents.
Take for example our Halloween parade. For the past few years, the kids had a Halloween parade and then a class party. This has grown into such a large event that the teachers don't like it anymore. There are too many parents in the school and it is disruptive to the school day (not like it hasn't already been disrupted with the costume parade). We had a big fight with the teachers in the beginning of the school year about letting parents attend class parties at all. If it was up to them, they would have one room mom and a helper and that is all. There were a lot of hurt feelings and one potential law suit against an especially passionate parent. I am not sure what is going to happen next year. We try to keep things neat, clean, and organized just as they request but somebody still complains.
I know that everything is always hunky dorie in LaLa Land. But in the real world, conflicts to arise and not just with Opinion. The teachers don't always want the parents in their faces all of the time. They like the volunteers to be their on their terms. I am actually friends with many of the teachers but some of them make things tough.
Like I said, its fun to let your kids decide where family interests go sometimes. Very life enhancing.
I don't think we're even. Try again.
