what made you decide to do what you do?

In the interest of changing the subject back to something that is actually relevant to a SAH/WOH debate (LOL!), I will pose a question to anyone who wants to answer:

Who or what would you say was the greatest influence on your decision to SAH or WOH, whichever one you do (or want to do, if you aren't doing what you want)? Did any particular person, circumstance, situation, or anything else lead you to decide this question one way or the other?

What if two different influences conflicted? How did you make the decision then?

I don't take anything she says with sincerity or reality. It is all too far out in the ozone.

Hmmm. Maybe we could just start driving the camper to the sporting event, and camp in the parking lot between sports!! Kill two birds with one stone!

LOL:o)!!

Excuse me, but once again, NO ONE HERE said kids should be playing chess, or checkers, or scrabble (also which are ALL thought provoking games and a good deal more worthwhile than Playstation), exclusively. It's just another worthwhile activity as an alternative to non-stop sports, or whatever is on YOUR short list of acceptable activities for children. There are hundreds, any of which might be enriching, stimulating, educational and otherwise worthwhile choices for our children. I hate to burst your delusional bubble, but you are not writing the book about how everyone should raise their kids and what activities are worthy. Give us a break, we're all laughing at you.

WHY,WHY, WHY do you insist on making these absurd assumptions and putting words into people's mouths? Do you not even realize that you are responding to statements that no one has made? Are you that impervious to what others say that you don't even hear them?

Where the heck have you been living that you don't know runners (among other types of athletes) should be able to carry on a conversation while they run? Any credibility you hoped to have as some kind of fitness expert/advocate just flew out the window. If your skill set lacks information as basic as that, you're just blowing smoke and everyone here can see it.

If you read further down, she states she used to run marathons. Apparently, she ran fast enough that her workout would be impared by talking.

outside_the_box_mom -- who ran with the "50 staters" and talked the entire time when she ran her (very slow) marathon, LOL

SA, don't you know that we're all fakes? If Opinion doesn't understand our lives, then they must not exist. Remember, it's all about LAO (Life According to Opinion), which coincidentally, will bring about LMAO.

I have a rhetorical question. If a tree falls in the forest, and Opinion is not there to see it, has it really fallen?

What's the difference who started it? After all this is a public board and all posters are free to respond.

Wow. You really NEVER have a nice word to say to anyone. I expect my children will be human (as I am) and have some faults. I have no idea what those faults will be. One of my faults was that I was overweight and out of shape. I do hope that my children grow up to be the kind of people who are not afraid to see their own faults and do something about them.

That's it. Now I know you've gone off the deep end. Puking to avoid obesity? That would be bulimia. Puking due to pregnancy induced hyperemesis, AKA extreme morning sickness, is a different thing entirely. I puked because I felt like I was seasick for 4 and a half months and because I couldn't see, smell or eat food without vomiting, not because I was trying to maintain my weight. I was hospitalized and given liquid nutrition with a mainline going into my chest because I was in Ketosis (starving). I puked because that's what happens to me when I get pregnant.

You really are nut, you know that?
