what made you decide to do what you do?

In the interest of changing the subject back to something that is actually relevant to a SAH/WOH debate (LOL!), I will pose a question to anyone who wants to answer:

Who or what would you say was the greatest influence on your decision to SAH or WOH, whichever one you do (or want to do, if you aren't doing what you want)? Did any particular person, circumstance, situation, or anything else lead you to decide this question one way or the other?

What if two different influences conflicted? How did you make the decision then?

I think I am a little younger than you. I graduated high school in 1980.

I did. It was right down the road from me. I remember when they had their high school built in aabout 1977. A bunch of kids from Milltown went to my high school. When the Spotswood high school was built, a bunch of them left to go there. It took a big toll on our enrollment. I have driven through Spotswood many times.

I didn't grow up there. The high school was a regional high school. I always lived in East Brunswick. There were kids in that high school that came from as far away as South Brunswick. I did get to know Piscataway pretty well since many of my friends lived there, many in the New Market area. I spent a lot of time in the Friendley's and the McDonalds on Stelton Road.

The research is ongoing ... but more often than not, gestational diabetes leads to Type2 adult onset. I am proof. But also that diabetes is genetic ... on my maternal parentage side. Skinny or not ... genetics play a big part.

I was really surprised in this second pregnancy I came up borderline gestational diabetic as there is no family history of any diabetes in my family. I'm completely diet controlled while monitoring my blood glucose numbers daily and thank God I don't think I'll be seeing any insulin I'm doing so wonderful. My aunt (dad's sister) had 3 babies and was gestational diabetic with all of them, no family history of diabetes in their families on either side either, she is now 70 years old and has not been pregnant for more than 40 years and no signs of any diabetic tendency at all. One of my friends has a 16yo and was gestational diabetic when pregnant and shows no signs of diabetes. Another friend was gestation diabetic w/all 3 pregnancies and it has been years and years since she was pregnant and no signs of diabetes. So I'm praying hard for the same outcome as these wonderful ladies of family and friends. And your right, from what I've read you can be a skinny minny and get gestational diabetes.

No, I've pretty much just questionned you.

<>

Actually, no, I never said you couldn't do any of those things. I said they were each

individually, highly improbable. And you forgot to argue any of them with anything more than "well thats how it works for us". Okee dokee.

<>

Really, but you just recently told us "This is my first post here, but I need some help from strangers. Here is my problem". Hmm. Oh, wait, I know, you've been lurking for AGES. Yes? No? Come on. What can you do with this...You should know this for reference though...posters who lurk, then post after ages, are extremely likely to note that in their first post. Or did you mean "This is my first post here under this name"...no, of course you didn't.
