What events or circumstances might cause you to go from SAH to WAH or WOH, or any other change in work status?

Have a great weekend, everyone!

I hear ya! I'm done as an FT employee in a few years. I may consult, teach or run for office, probably all three. Our financial goals have already been met, but my working for another 5 years should give us enough of a cushion for all

I cannot imagine what would get me to work ft now. Maybe my dh losing his job or getting sick. It would also take major illness to get me to sah again. I like part-time and want to go ft when they girls are a little older.

This is exactly what happened to a friend of mine. She is a lawyer who has owned a diversity consulting company for years. Her DH is also a lawyer and they've had a really great life, three polite, smart

I might decide to work if we lived near mother-in-law, so she could babysit. I would also work if my husband lost his job.

I am a WOHM. I have always been one and I only took a leave of absence when my son was first experiencing heart problems and when he had surgery. He's healthy now and I have since gone back to work. Only other times I didn't work was when I was on maternity leave.

I just love my job. Its something that I dreamed about since I was 5 and its something I worked towards since high school really. I love my children unconditionally, but I just couldnt stop working.

So what, if it's 1950 or whatever you're trying to imply?

Modern or trendy?

It was modern and trendy when it was prevalent in the 1950s. Historically, not so much. And I'm not so sure that any trend that produced the results of the 60's is worth emulating.
