I was going to post a long drawn out post on who does what and how it has changed over the years but I think that you summed it up very well. That is pretty much how we have done it.
Both of us feel like we are responsible for about 70% of the housework and maintenance. We really do. And it works, even if the numbers don't add up. My husband is a little delusional about his actual daily contributions to running the home, but I love him. I think he would say that same thing about me.
Me-everything inside. Him-everything outside.Every once in a while we'll help each other out without being asked. It works. No confusion, no bickering about who does what, no nagging of each other to do something.

Generally, we split everything pretty evenly. We both WOH FT and so we equally contribute to the housework and parenting. DH does do much more of the outside work (though there isnt much) but he considers it fun. I do a lot more of organizational stuff--cleaning out closets, getting rid of clothes for the kids, bills, etc. It's pretty fair right now.
We are contemplating me SAH come this summer though, so I imagine I'll do much more of the housework if I'm home all day.

Dh is the wohp, I am the sahp.
I do most of the indoor chores (or see that they get done, as the kids do a lot of it, too).
Dh does most of the outdoor chores (mostly b/c I have really bad allergies, so I *hide* inside while he does things like mowing and weedeating).
Basically, as long as no one is sitting on the couch staring at the TV while the other one is running their tail off, we're good.
