What would YOU have to do to SAH?

If you're a WOH/WAH mom, what sort of "downsizing" would you need to do in order to afford to be a SAHM? (SAHM defined here as not earning any money)

For me, I would have to put all our non-essential possessions in storage and move in with my parents.

So basically what you are saying is that you would get a tutor so you could continue doing your "things". Gotcha :)

am i missing something here? why wouldn't the homework hours be concurrent OR staggered -- rather than consecutive.

In our home, sd works from 3-4 and I check her work when I get home. Dd works from 5-6 and then from 7-8 as needed.

Where did I ever say I couldn't ask my parents for help? Where did I ever say Liza' couldn't ask me for help. she routinely does. What my parents taught me and what I'm teaching Liza is "KNOW WHEN AND WHO AND HOW TO ASK". I don't know where you got the idea Liza couldn't ask me for help.. when she needs it she does.

And all of those things are great IF and only IF your child does not needs help at those times, don't you agree?

I'd figure it out as the situation warranted -- I don't realy have scenarios a-z ready to go at all times when it comes to Liza -- I roll with alot of punches and so does she.

because it's the most meanigful to her -- and the one thing that has helped her blossom in the amazing kid she is -- I'd sooner cut off her arm -- it focuses her, it's combatted her shyness, and it's made her amazingly poised and confident. I'd cut chorus or dance before I cut rehearsals.

Count yourself as one of the lucky ones. Infrequently, Am I called to help ODS with his homework. However, I sit with YDS as he does his homework - sometimes as scribe, sometimes as reader and sometimes as mentor.
