What would YOU have to do to SAH?

If you're a WOH/WAH mom, what sort of "downsizing" would you need to do in order to afford to be a SAHM? (SAHM defined here as not earning any money)

For me, I would have to put all our non-essential possessions in storage and move in with my parents.

What if chorus or dance was the most meaningful for her? Would you cut out rehearsals and plays?

oh give me a break -- Liza HAS to learn to manage her stress -- she HAS to work on finding the tools now so she has them as an adult. I've met too many adults who have 'fixers" in theiir lives who run around making everying peachy so said person never has to feel stress -- feeling it and managing it is part of life -- she's no different from anyone else. I work with her all the time on managing it, avoiding the situations that bring it on, and how to take responsibility for her actions.

your little round o shocked faces are getting old...Liza's MY kid not yours remember> I could care less how you manage your kids or what grades they get why do you care about how I manage mine?

I would get her a tutor if she needed it because 1) the tutor is probably better at you know Tutorign than I am and 2) Liza always responsd better to outside teachers

*shrug* it'd get much better results than me tutoring her that's for sure.

I didn't ask you how you made sure the homework was done, I asked how you made sure it was turned in...there is a difference.

If my child needs help only *I* can provide or if my help is the best route to solving the issue, sure.

probably -- I'd let her keep whatever has proven to be the most beneficial to her as a person. It could be hockey someday for all I know... but at the moment it's theater.

<< and if we're just supposed to snap our fingers and expect a child to perform school assignments, life skills entirely on their own past a certain age,the relationship suffers.>>

Why would one expect that?
