What would YOU have to do to SAH?

If you're a WOH/WAH mom, what sort of "downsizing" would you need to do in order to afford to be a SAHM? (SAHM defined here as not earning any money)

For me, I would have to put all our non-essential possessions in storage and move in with my parents.

......I'm not sure that teaches a child the right reason to do things.

It is in my boy's troop. I think it depends on the troop.

So you are simply choosing what YOU want him to not be able to do for what YOU prefer. IMO you take away the most important thing to them as THAT will have them learn a lesson and not do it a second time.

LOL! I've seen it on BOTH ends -- both as a teacher and a parent. I've e-mailed several parents this year because their children keep showing up to class without their agenda book. My son (and also my dd) ROUTINELY forget to write down homework assignments.

For SOME kids, they just don't "get" the whole write down the assignment, chunk out the big project thing.

yeah, for some reason, she doesn't break down into tears when her teacher tells her "Look at this one again. Where'd you get 64 in the second line?" or yell "Okay okay! I get it!" when she tells her something for the 3rd time, or stomp off into her room adn slam her book on her desk when it's finally all done.

I have the opposite child. My son's 504 plan stated explicitly that I was to be informed of ALL long-term assignments ahead of time so that I could chunk them out for him. I have plenty of students like him in my classes.

Then I'm confused....weren't you shocked or amazed that I have email interaction with my son's teachers, earlier in this debate...now the teacher and parents value this exchange?

1. If both kids do homework from 5-8pm, where is there "6 hours" of help from mom? It is STILL a total of

Maybe it is in the way of teaching and attentiveness she gets.
