If you're a WOH/WAH mom, what sort of "downsizing" would you need to do in order to afford to be a SAHM? (SAHM defined here as not earning any money)

For me, I would have to put all our non-essential possessions in storage and move in with my parents.

Yes, that's after the fact....but my question was, how do you make sure that she physically turns in the work unless you are physically make her turn in the work?

I'm guessing by now you have figured out there isn't an answer...you can't make kids turn their work in unless you walk into each classroom with them and make them....they have to want to turn that work in to their teachers.

The natural consequence would be to get an F or incomplete from the teacher.

No, this originated with the idea that parents should be directly involved in checking home work and the like in order for academic basics to be achieved.

I hope you didn't interpret any of my posts to mean that I think yours is a usual situation, or that if I was in such one, I wouldn't do whatever I had to do, or that a tutor would solve your problem, or that I'm unsympathetic.

I don't think any of my comments here apply to situations like yours, where there is an obvious long-term issue.

No, that is not what I'm doing, not at all.

My child knows ahead of time what the consequences are of not turning in homework ... a failed grade.

my mother used to make the kids stand at her desk while she wrote the F in her grade book.

law isn't your thing?

or debate boards? lol

Dh has never had a thing either (unless you count cartoons, lol). He's been fine. He's happy. I just keep hoping both kids will find their thing someday.
