As much as the idea of living with my parents curdles my blood, I must admit that we could make a KILLER dent in our debt if we did it for a year, and just about eliminate it if we did it for two years. It's not something that would make my top 10 list of preferred options, though.
of course you can't, because people are complicated and complex and there's far far more to each one of us than whether we spend our days at a job or not... my job doesn't define me but my daughter doesn't define me either.
I think that's because a lot of the women on this board don't have the mindset that its desirable for children to have a father they barely see because he works 7 days a week.
My baby needs BOTH his parents. He's a dad, not an ATM. An absent father is FAR more detrimental than the other options. I would much sooner use daycare than have my son never see his daddy.

When I was pregnant with my 1st child almost 15 years ago, the plan was for me to go back to work.
I think that's because a lot of the women on this board don't have the mindset that its desirable for children to have a father they barely see because he works 7 days a week.
I think, at least for me that is, the presence of one parent does not make up for the absence of the other parent.
