What would YOU have to do to SAH?

If you're a WOH/WAH mom, what sort of "downsizing" would you need to do in order to afford to be a SAHM? (SAHM defined here as not earning any money)

For me, I would have to put all our non-essential possessions in storage and move in with my parents.

I'd like to think that I know enough about what dd is doing at school that I'd know if she had a regular quiz every week in 3rd or 4th grade. Does the school not send home graded tests?

Not everyone has children who can remember what a teacher says verbatim.
That other mom sounds a little crazy, but an encounter like that wouldn't keep me from discussing school issues with other parents.

Last night I was sitting with my son while he did his homework, lol....I wasn't helping but when I was typing on the computer, he was next to me typing his report on the other laptop.

I wasn't aware that by answering the question, it depends on what you mean by regular basis, I was doing that...live and learn, know I know that I'm not allowed to respond to your responses otherwise I will be "screening".

Oh and, I never assumed that differently on your part either.

"when a teacher (unintentionally) marks answers wrong when they are really right,do you take that up with her?"

"Some of the burden is on the parents, I just don't see why a daily hour or whatever is needed to work with a child on these concepts."

Extracurriculars can be very important, but yes, I consider them secondary to classroom instruction and learning in school subjects.

The type that thinks time spent on theater activities is as important as time spent studying.
