Extracurriculars were just as important as core studies, IMO
I did all you did, National Honor, debate team, etc, but I was involved in sports instead of drama. Being really good at some sports gave me the confidence and self-esteem I needed to get by in hs; I was rather a shy kid. It also worked out well for me because it paid for half my undergraduate education.

I disagree, they are equally important many times and help a great many times with academics.
