If one's intended career is theatre, then it is. Plus, the subjects of English, history and math would be directly augmented by theatre involvement (analyzing scripts, designing era-appropriate sets, constructing those sets, etc).
I wasn't involved in much of anything in high school, I believe I missed out on a lot because I wasn't involved in a number of activities outside of academics.
I don't know if graded tests were sent home, but I doubt it. Of course I still discussed with other parents, but I was a little more careful after that encounter.
LOL. Granted I only have one myself, but I pretend she is as much work as 6 ;). Actually that is one trap I tried hard not to fall into, i.e. doing for her just because I had the time. There are advantages to being one of a crowd.
Yes, but there was no debate team at the time. Later dd did participate in a few debate events, but she was not all that impressed. The drama club was good, because the kids also had to hash out together what the show/play would consist of and argue for their points.
