If you're a WOH/WAH mom, what sort of "downsizing" would you need to do in order to afford to be a SAHM? (SAHM defined here as not earning any money)

For me, I would have to put all our non-essential possessions in storage and move in with my parents.

"My job is not to micromanage her homeworkand make sure she gets all the super shiny star stickers she can. I WANT her to fail occassionaly I WANT her to hit the speed bumps I WANT her to fall down and have to figure for herself what went wrong and how she can make it better next time."

Hear, hear. Dylan is getting this this year in 5th grade. He is finally learning to study which he hasn't had to do for the last 4 years (5 counting K). Unfortunately, stickers and other rewards don't work for him. He is a process person. And it's been a challenge to make him understand that the process isn't going to be interesting every time. That and making him understand that he doesn't and shouldn't be reinventing the wheel every time.

Small class sizes, I guess. Private school is probably very different.

but we get a parent sheet with every new unit that gives us the answers and explanations for the homework,

Literally, every time my ds has needed help with his math this year, I've needed to go to the parent sheet.
