I'm a telecommuter who works ~60 hours a week with flexible hours.

The sahms locally are friendly until I say I work at home and then a great deal of them shut down.

I'm a wah, but 60hrs is alot! I have moments when I have to work a lot, maybe 60-80 for a week or two, but not as a usual schedule. When do you sleep? We've always had othercare before all were in school ft.

I most closely align myself with woh, but I feel fortunate to have the advantages of sah, but my wardrobe has suffered. Kick a$$ power suits were replaced by shorts and t shirts, even when I'm talking to the highest level of execs in my company.

My kids are all in school ft, and we don't have any othercare anymore, since my dh and I both wah. We are part of PTA, school committee, and we're as available as most sahs.

Most of my acquaintances in my community know I work, but my availability is closer to a sah. Best of both worlds, imo.

Sometimes it's not where or what you do that is the "problem".

When I WOHPT, I would get the cold shoulder as soon as SAHM's figured out I wasn't one of them.

While I do think SAH is a foolish choice, I don't decide who to talk to on the park bench based on their working status.

Yeah good point! The only time I've ever seen anyone be totally rude or hostile toward WOH or SAH as a choice is HERE. And I recall words like "stupid" and "dumb" to describe women who SAH. With that attitude, no wonder she cops some resentment from SAHM's in real life:) What's that old cliche, you reap what you sow?
