We change sheets less frequently than you but still generate an equivalent amount of laundry. There are the exercise clothes. And of course the dishtowels can be actively hazardous if you let the ick build up. And I have to wash dd's outerwear with some frequency too since our current bizarre lack of snow and high temps(abnormal for New England) means that recess is a mudfest where usually there is a reprieve from mud from Novemeber until March.
Seeing a boyfriend/fiance around other people's kids wouldn't be a reliable indicator of how he'd be as a parent. (Unless he was actively hostile to or annoyed by them. That would be a red flag.) Who changes the diaper of a friend's baby or helps a freind's toddler in the bathroom unless specifically babysitting? There are caretaking activities a man may do with neices and nephews that he would never do with kids of friends. It would be too presumptious.
I agree. Treating children well isn't remotely like actually caring for them. Playing peek-a-boo with a friend's baby isn't evidence of a future willingness to clean up puke at 2AM.
I was amazed at how quickly I was doing loads of "darks" over the Christmas break. I know with my kids home I seemed to have more b/c they normally wear uniforms during the week. But I'd get all their stuff folded and put away and go on to do the whites, and I'd see the darks completely full already! I realized quickly it was b/c of all of dh's jeans and long sleeved shirts! Most of his clothes for work go to the dry cleaner, so I don't usually have much to wash for him during the week. I did SO much laundry over CHristmas break.
I think I've said here before that laundry is one area I don't like dh to help me out (well, he can fold if he wants) mainly b/c he doesn't check thoroughly for stains like I do. I was thinking of this board when, one day, I had a pile of darks to do. I also had several sweaters to wash on delicate that I'd carried down on top of the load of darks. I put it in the basement and went out to run errands. I came home to find that dh had done both loads, mixing the two together. However, he didn't realize all the sweaters needed to be washed on delicate and tumble dried on low. Fortunately, he didn't ruin or shrink anything and I had to bite my tongue b/c he was merely trying to take care of it for me since I usually do all the laundry.
Do you not sweat in it? Even though I wear deodorant and don't sweat heavily, I'd still feel gross wearing the same workout clothes more than once. Obviously *you* don't have to wear a new outfit, but most people I know wash their workout clothes after every use. THere is no way dh could wear his more than once - he sweats profusely and despite wearing deodorant, the clothes still smell. THere are times I've had to wash his soccer uniform twice b/c it still stunk after the first wash.
