Which came first, the title or the SAHW?

Last night I attended my husband's work Christmas party. I sat with the CEO, CFO, CTO, COO (Chief operations officer, I didn't know that acronym, I had to ask), Creative Director, Marketing Director and their wives. Near the end of the evening it was just we wives chatting mostly about kids. I made the observation that even though all the wives were intelligent, educated and accomplished women, not a single one (except me), woh. They are all SAHM's.
Any thoughts on why that might be? I have my own opinion but I'd like to hear from everyone else first. Do you think they sah because of their husbands jobs or their husbands have their jobs because the wives stay home? Or doesn't it matter?

Now we do those things during the summer and during school vacations.
And to tell you the truth, I love to cook, shop, run errands, be home. Cleaning, well, that's a necessary evil, but the rest of it, especially being with the kids, I just loved.

as for my schedule, it may not be as "light" as you think. I leave at 6 am, plan my day from 7-8, teach until 2:30, arrange things for the next day, leave at about 3-3:30 and get home between 4 and 4:30.
However, i've always said that while i have a bit less days to work per year, my sisters have been able to do many/all of the same things that i have with less time available...one sis has 3-5 weeks off, one has 2-4 weeks off...one gets off at 3 pm, one gets off at 5 pm

I think many SAHMs can't afford to do the museum/park thing daily, so yes, they DO SAH. It's great your life affords you these luxuries.
