Which came first, the title or the SAHW?

Last night I attended my husband's work Christmas party. I sat with the CEO, CFO, CTO, COO (Chief operations officer, I didn't know that acronym, I had to ask), Creative Director, Marketing Director and their wives. Near the end of the evening it was just we wives chatting mostly about kids. I made the observation that even though all the wives were intelligent, educated and accomplished women, not a single one (except me), woh. They are all SAHM's.

Any thoughts on why that might be? I have my own opinion but I'd like to hear from everyone else first. Do you think they sah because of their husbands jobs or their husbands have their jobs because the wives stay home? Or doesn't it matter?

My kids feeling bear weight in the family but they are not the deciding factor.

Actually, thats what she always says, isn't it. WOHM isn't relevant. SES is relevant.

You just can't get your mind around that arguement. That's the problem. Its a pretty simple position.

Well, my dh doesn't have a degree, and with bonus and stock options, he makes six figures some years. Although I realize that's not the norm. However, I do believe that the people who risk their lives for our safety and security do deserve some sort of premium for that. I believe police and fire fighters are similarly underpaid.

You forgot to mention that GW used George Senior's legacy to attain enterance to College. I would also call that riding the coat-tails.

And I'm sure you "know" her better than I do. I was just responding to a few posts that seem to focus on nothing but results. Again, since I don't know her, all I have to go on is the content of the posts I've read.

I don't know that I see the connection. I'm here largely for entertainment; I don't think it has anything to do with how much I care about my child.

I agree. The posts I was referring to seemed to indicate that the children's feelings should carry no weight.

I'm impressed.
