Which came first, the title or the SAHW?

Last night I attended my husband's work Christmas party. I sat with the CEO, CFO, CTO, COO (Chief operations officer, I didn't know that acronym, I had to ask), Creative Director, Marketing Director and their wives. Near the end of the evening it was just we wives chatting mostly about kids. I made the observation that even though all the wives were intelligent, educated and accomplished women, not a single one (except me), woh. They are all SAHM's.

Any thoughts on why that might be? I have my own opinion but I'd like to hear from everyone else first. Do you think they sah because of their husbands jobs or their husbands have their jobs because the wives stay home? Or doesn't it matter?

Those SAT scores are nothing that would have positively influenced his admission chances. I know it's a bit after he enrolled, but I found this on line about percentile rankings at Yale from '75-99 based on SAT scores, and I don't imagine they had changed dramatically since the '60's:

His father and grandfather having attended would have affected his admission chances greatly.

If you think that it wouldn't make it into the news if WMD were found, you're naive. . .finding WMD would MORE than justify Bush's policy wrt Iraq and his going forward without more international support. . .

What advantage would there be to NOT telling the media?

I believe the PSAT used a different scale, so a PSAT score indicates how well you are likely to do on the SAT, but the numerical scores aren't comparable.

I couldnt do it. Its hard enough working my 2 days a week, and having my 4yo get upset when he finds out its a *work night*.

My dd went from having 2 ft wohp parents to having a sahp, and she prefers it this way. She likes having me around-even now that she is heading into evil teenhood, lol.

If I really wanted to woh ft, and my kids didnt want me to, I'd wait until they were in school and woh pt until that day. If I felt that my kids had valid reasons, and it was a choice I could make without crushing us financially, how could I NOT listen to their wants/needs???

One or even multiple studies do not make a rule either. NO GUARANTEES. Period.

Only in regards to SES, our kids will turn out the same. Difference is, you need to work full time for a higher SES. I don't.

Show me ONE post where I said ANYTHING was a guarantee!!! Don't put words in my mouth. NOTHING is guaranteed. All you can do is stack the deck in your favor.

Because I'm the one paying the bill and I have every right to know why I'm being asked to pay it. And yes, I'm paying it even if the person taking from the system is a tax payer becasue they reduce what is available by taking and someone has to make up that difference. No, paying taxes does not entitle one to anything. These systems are for those who cannot help themselve not for those who just choose not to work and stick their hand out.

Where there's a will there's a way. You have to figure out your own way or you can just build road blocks. How about WAH? I have an aunt who does medical billing at home and has since her son was born (she's a widow and didn't want to WOH or take hand outs). There are lots of ways to help yourself but you do have to look for them.
