Which came first, the title or the SAHW?

Last night I attended my husband's work Christmas party. I sat with the CEO, CFO, CTO, COO (Chief operations officer, I didn't know that acronym, I had to ask), Creative Director, Marketing Director and their wives. Near the end of the evening it was just we wives chatting mostly about kids. I made the observation that even though all the wives were intelligent, educated and accomplished women, not a single one (except me), woh. They are all SAHM's.

Any thoughts on why that might be? I have my own opinion but I'd like to hear from everyone else first. Do you think they sah because of their husbands jobs or their husbands have their jobs because the wives stay home? Or doesn't it matter?

Just wondering, does multiple endocrine failure cause poor judgement, a lack of sensitivity, and overall brain damage? If so, I guess you have an excuse for your ugly and inhumane post.

And I will go so far as to say that sometimes, more money is just plain bad for a family.

Nope, no excuse for her except having a cruel nature. Obviously she has no clue what putting God first means otherwise she would have leant support to Eileen or kept her mouth shut!

Eileen, SHE HAS ADMITTED THAT SHE IS A TROLL. The post got deleted from the other thread. Please don't waste a second of your time with her. On the other "boot" thread she said her intent was to rile the masses. Please just ignore her. Take care.

I know this is going to look like i'm posting to myself, but this is for all of you who have been an incredible support and source of strength for me. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I realize now that i never should have responded in the first place (i missed where she was called out as a troll). I lost it when i got to the part about me being "cruel" to my dd and family. However, in retrospect, i should have laughed instead of cried. I should also know that many of you have "known" me for a long, long time and "know" what i'm all about.

It was so nice to come back from the mall -- haircuts for the kids, chanukah present for dh, lunch with kids -- and see such a solid show of support. You ladies mean the world to me.

I just truly shudder deep down when i see such ignorance by anyone -- even a troll.

Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart.

You must be truly paranoid if you think I've ever condemned working moms. Find that post please, I'd love to see it.

"I'm fully aware that some moms lack the ability to benefit their families by WOH."

And conversely, some moms lack the ability to benefit their families by staying home.

All that really proves is that one of you doesn't feel the need to support her debate arguments with anything besides opinion. it's not like CLW walks around on the streets, carrying studies like tracts and handing them out to anyone who looks like a SAHP; she's participating in a DEBATE board on the specific subject of which style of parenting (if either) is best and has argued with studies that support her own beliefs.

That's not insecurity as much as it is understanding the nature of debate.

Frankly, your proof makes your own argument look pretty bad.

I don't know what there is to feel guilty about either, but apparently CLW is racked with it. Debate schmebate, why else would anyone be obsessed with all the proof that it's OK to woh?

You don't see any sahm's searching high and low to prove that not using DC isn't harming their kids, do you?

I wasn't addressing you anyway, you don't seem to be as defensive as CLW. Well, at least you didn't seem to be.

If a person is comfortable with their choices, they generally don't get all excited and defensive. I think a certain someone isn't so sure. I know I am. I certainly wouldn't waste a keystroke searching for any kind of research to prove that my kids will be OK despite my staying home with them when they weren't in school.

That's the truest thing I've read yet. That one is nuttier than a fruitcake, but entertaining in a macabre sort of way, don't you think?

She knows not what she (he?) is saying, I don't think she's "right", KWIM?
