opinion to DIFFER. What I mean is--is there anyone on this board or in real life whose opinion/reasoning/debating/facts started to make your thinking more to the middle? As in if you thought sah or woh was best & then after some discussion/thought, you began to think that whatever is best for each family--really there is no one best way, etc.

We just really needed a new thread here!!!!!!!!

It's confusing, snoopy. Earlier, you said there's no bread after lunch, as if there were some special nutritional reason for a rule like that Now you're saying you just don't usually serve bread with dinner. Although sometimes there might be pizza, which has crust made of bread dough. But anyway, what I want to know is whether the kids can have bread as part of an afternoon or before bed snack.

If sex at age 15 enhanced your life and in no way detracted, I'd say you were clearly the exception rather than the rule and that your experience says nothing about what we should teach our children about sex.

Are you really and truly OK with the thought that your dd might start having regular sexual intercourse at age 15?

Not necessarily. What if they're closer to 6yo than to 2yo and of an average size or activity level, or maybe even a little larger and more active than usual. Wouldn't they then need at least 5 or 6 servings for the day? In that case, the cheerios and a sandwich wouldn't cover them for the day.

Not only that, but you didn't say they have 2 servings of cheerios and not just one. 2 cups of cheerios sounds like a lot of cheerios at once, even for an adult. Even so, that plus 2 slices of bread doesn't come to 6 or even 5 bread servings.

OTOH, what *parents* feel is best, isn't always necessarily what is best for their kids and teens :)

Or vice versa.

Not everyone has as poor a relationship with their parents as you did/do.

Why wouldn't it be relevant what your parents thought of your decision?

"While you're at it, perhaps you'd also like to explain what exactly I had to lose by my becomming sexual active at 15 :)"

Not you specifically, but I think teenagers can lose the following by becoming sexually active so young:

1. They grow up too fast and lose interest in more age appropriate endeavors.

2. They grow up too fast because they have to be concerned about preventing pg and STDs and have to be emotionally mature enough to handle the feelings that result.

3.

I can't imagine a 15 year old who's having sex is limiting him or herself to once a week. When I started having sex, I wanted it every day.
