opinion to DIFFER. What I mean is--is there anyone on this board or in real life whose opinion/reasoning/debating/facts started to make your thinking more to the middle? As in if you thought sah or woh was best & then after some discussion/thought, you began to think that whatever is best for each family--really there is no one best way, etc.

We just really needed a new thread here!!!!!!!!

I agree. My ped. said not to give my kids straight juice for that reason. They "drink" their calories, fill up, and then they won't eat their food.

***Therefore, I have special reason to not give him sticky snacks like gummi bears or worms or raisins.***

WOW I totally agree with you. Teeth are funny aren't they? Both my parents have always had issues with their teeth. My brother has a tough time too. I am in my mid thirties and NEVER once had a cavity.

I'd love to learn more about how chemistry affects weight. But you're right, it's much better to eat more evenly during the day, starting with a balanced breakfast.

She never once mentioned her children in that post. So I am not sure where you are getting that information. She is making the statement that she thinks my food choices are bad for my children. I never made that claim to her. Read exactly what she said.

***It was because you said they *can* have gummy snacks when they *can't* have bread. I happen to think bread is better for them than gummy snacks, but I don't see how anyone can claim the gummy snacks are good for kids. Nutritionally, they're roughly equivalent to a few teaspoons of jelly. Raw fruit is much better for them.****

You don't have to get it. They aren't your children.

I hardly ever have any kind of juice in the house, except for OJ. And they're not allowed to pour 10 oz. of juice, either. We all mostly drink water, and the kids like their skim milk. They prefer whole milk, but that's too bad ;-)

Um, no. I wouldn't presume to know what's good for your kids, especially since you've explained they have dietary issues. If I had meant your kids, I would have said so. I meant *kids in general*.

Have you ever tried the skim supreme milk?
