opinion to DIFFER. What I mean is--is there anyone on this board or in real life whose opinion/reasoning/debating/facts started to make your thinking more to the middle? As in if you thought sah or woh was best & then after some discussion/thought, you began to think that whatever is best for each family--really there is no one best way, etc.

We just really needed a new thread here!!!!!!!!

So exactly what *is* objectively true for everyone? If your think it is okay for some 15 year olds to have sex, what about 14 year olds? 13? 12? Is there an age that you personally think it would be *universally* wrong to have one's first sexual experience (intercourse)?

"I've given you all sorts of reasons why sex is not a positive thing for 15-year-olds, as have others here: increased risk of pg and stds, research showing that the 15-year-old brain is not fully developed, etc."

And your opinion + it being backed up by something = objective fact/truth/reality how...?

"You haven't offered a single reason why sex at 15 is beneficial."

Again, I've answered this question a number of times.

Just because you refuse to accept it, doesn't mean I haven't answered it or that my answer is invalid.

BTW, if you expect me to make some sort of blanket statement that seemingly applies to every 15 yo in every situation across the board, it's not going to happen, as I have already clearly stated that I hardly think I (or anyone else for that matter) am in any position to make such statements/judgements/choices/decisions wrt what is objectively true for everyone.

Can you say the same? If not, could you please explain what puts you in the position to make such statements/judgements/choices/decisions wrt what is objectively true for everyone?

Oh, I get it now. You want to play a guessing game!

Sorry, I can't think of a single reason why a 15-yr-old having sex is a good thing, so I can't play.

That would be confusing to the kids IMO. My dh and I sat down a long time ago and decided what we want to do with the girls on certain issues. I could not imagine not being on the same page and enforcing rules.

There is no plus side to having sex at 15.

I don't need a blanket statement--I just need *one* reason why it's a good thing for *any* 15-year-old to have sex. One explanation about what that 15-yr-old is missing out on by waiting until she's 18 or 20 to have sex. Still waiting.

Can I ask where you get this information from: "Priests preaching against fornication between consenting adults...?"

Is this from your general exposure to the teachings of Catholicism or personal experience listening to homilies in a Catholic church or some other source?

It can and does go well beyond lying, cheating, murder and theft. You may feel your views on issues are pretty different, but maybe the issues you're talking about are the ones that are easy to differ on. What if he decided open marriage was the right thing to do at this point in your married life? What if you decided some of your investments were too unethical for you but he didn't agree? In the course of a lifetime, ethics can collide.
