opinion to DIFFER. What I mean is--is there anyone on this board or in real life whose opinion/reasoning/debating/facts started to make your thinking more to the middle? As in if you thought sah or woh was best & then after some discussion/thought, you began to think that whatever is best for each family--really there is no one best way, etc.

We just really needed a new thread here!!!!!!!!

Yeah, travel is different after you have kids. But as you say, in a few years it will be easier.

My boys are 6 and 3. Don't you need a girl??? :)

Because that is reality. Everything when comparing things that are similar are better or worse. You can have two different cups of ice cream. One will be better than the other. Yet different people will pick different cups as to what is better. Again better or worse isn't a bad thing. Just is.

Very cool! Dh thought about going into patent law at one point (specifically biotech since he has a PhD in biochem/cell biology). I'd love the opportunity to head in that direction as well. I recently filed a patent and found the entire procedure fascinating.

I didn't say I've never observed this, but when you are debating, the words you use are taken seriously. And as has been pointed out, "respect" and "impress" have two totally different meanings. Perhaps you have some personal experience here? Are people not as impressed with you right now b/c you are a SAHM but they were when you were practicing law?

She didn't say she never observed this. It was you who equated "respect" with "reacts differently to different job titles". When you use the wrong word, you change the meaning of the sentence completely.

Um-m-m, no. Everything isn't always different. Sometimes, things are just the same. One of my kids has blue eyes, the other brown. Is one better? No. Sometimes one choice we make for our kids is as good as another.

Not everything has to divide up into a better/worse dichotomy. I don't think Massachusetts is a better state than California. Even so, I'm glad I live here (Massachusetts) and have no intention of moving to California. Doesn't make one state better than the other. And although some daycares are decidedly better than others, the whole concept of daycare doesn't have to be better/worse than the whole concept of SAH for a family to pick one or the other.

Yes one is better to have than the other to SOME people. See what I am saying. Thinking that SAH is better than DC is by opinion. One person might think having blue eyes is better than having brown. It is opinion and that is my point.

Again you are incorrect. You aren't following my point. Mass might be better than California for some people. Just because it isn't for you doesn't mean it isn't for others. Again it is opinion.
