opinion to DIFFER. What I mean is--is there anyone on this board or in real life whose opinion/reasoning/debating/facts started to make your thinking more to the middle? As in if you thought sah or woh was best & then after some discussion/thought, you began to think that whatever is best for each family--really there is no one best way, etc.

We just really needed a new thread here!!!!!!!!

It doesn't matter in your particular case anyway, because nurses aren't breaking glass ceilings either.

Fair enough. Everyone has their own perception on what is better for their children and family. You really cannot argue that point.

Your welcome.

So since you didn't rank this particular experience, although as you say it doesn't change the fact that everything has a better or worse...when do you rank or not rank?

SAH is pro-woman's movement for the simple fact that *most* sahm's chooes to sah. *Most* are not being forced to sah. *Most* women choose to sah b/c they want to not b/c society is expecting them too.

Those study findings would be more meaningful it they were compared to the kind of care children receive at home, and if parental care were described as to use of babysitters, family members, neighbors and so on in the home.

Trust othercare? When did I ever state I didn't trust othercare? I do not like othercare for babies and toddlers. I do not see the point or advantage. It has nothing to do with trust. When I went back to work with my oldest, my sister watched her. I trusted her completely.

If the financial aspect, living in a huge house, the most expensive schools, are what is most important to your family than yes! And I do not mean that in a negative way at all. We all have diferent levels of comfort. Your idea of saving for the future and mine are probably complete different. Judging from your posts only, I think you would not have enjoyed being at home. I do not think everyone should sah or is meant to sah. Everyone is different.

We live in a decent house, living pretty much debt free and my children go to a great catholic school. Could we have more if I had worked? Maybe but it is all relative. More is not always better.
