Who is raising your children?

First a few disclaimers - if you are a single or divorced parent, you probably don't have a choice between being a SAHP or a WOHP, (unless you are independently wealthy and then i'm very jealous of you!), most likely you have to WOH to be able to provide the basics for your children.

You are right, the parents make the decisions,
At this point in my life with 17+ YEARS of parenting, I'm not offended by much.
And again my question was posed to women who choose to work for other than financial reasons.
But why?

I'm stuck at the elementary school age point...if it's an issue, then why is it okay starting in elementary school?

I just read a post today on one of these threads where the poster said,"i am raising my kids, not my daycare provider."
I said I think a parent should be home till the kids are old enough for elementary school.
What is magical about elementry school that it's suddenly okay, when it's not before?

<< Prior to school age, you, as parents, have the choice whether or not they are cared for by a parent all day or by an "othergiver.">>
Yes, but the parent also has the choice to homeschool or send to traditional school.

"Taking full credit for raising the child, even when the child is in the care of another individual is inaccurate. "
Can't recall where I said I was taking full credit. Virtually every parent has "outside" help in the raising of children- however- ultimately it is the parents that raise the child. It doesn't matter the work status. My woh DH has as much influence in the raising of *OUR* children as I do as a sahp.
