I'm mostly a lurker, but thought I'd see if anyone found this issue debateable.

I see so many posts here stating somethink like "I'm lucky that it is possible for me to SAH". Of course that is a valid feeling/statement, but being a WOHM I also feel lucky. I'm lucky because I have the education and brains that allow me to

I would only feel lucky if I won the lottery.

I think there's a bit of luck in landing the jobs we have.

I don't think I would say lucky to stay at home, but glad to be able to do what I want and that is to stay at home. Trish :)

I feel lucky that i have been able to be a great teacher and a fabulous mom -- and not have to give up ANY of it in any way.

I dunno -- I have a good job, good benefits, my own condo, my own car, a great kid and a really good life - but I don't feel "lucky" about it- I definitely fought to get this life and went through a lot of dark times to come out on the bright side.

Yes. We. Did.

I think it's normal to feel lucky if your life is working out in a way that makes you happy and/or the way you would like it to. I don't think SAHMS's would think that is ridiculous--most of them know that we area all different people have different personalities & opinions on how we'd like our lives to go.

The lucky one is the one who's doing what makes them happy...whichever that happens to be.
