I'll take that as a vent. Hi! And yes, it's okay with me if you continue to SAH. :-)

I think one of the biggest advantages to SAH when the kids are in school (full time - 4 hours a week is nothing and doesn't count, LOL) is that you can FINALLY take care of the home and family to your full satisfaction and at your own pace. I don't know about you, but it's nearly impossible to get any real housework done while my son is conscious. I get some stuff done when he takes his very brief nap, and then it goes on hold again until he goes to bed at night. Taking care of children IS a job. If it wasn't, WOHMs wouldn't need daycare.

Works for me. If I see ya at the grocery store, I'll say hey. (my upstairs neighbor has her youngest in preschool or Mama's Morning out or something, I'm not entirely sure what exactly. She and I often meet at the grocery store, because she likes to go without kids 'helping' and I like to go after work (I work nights and get home around 9:15 am(ish).

Maybe later you can work out how to explain to people that "Why, yes, I *am* going to 'just sleep the day away'. Again. Like I did yesterday. So stop calling me at 3pm and asking if you woke me."

Considering that I didn't go back to work FT when my youngest went to school,

Welcome to the board. I don't care what you do--sah, wah, or woh. As long as you grant me the same choice. For myself, if I had 2 hours to myself, my answer would be anything I want to--take a long soak in the tub, read a book, sew, go for a walk, to to the library, etc.

It's okay with me- come over and I'll pour you a cuppa and I'll bake a few muffins to go with it.
